Ready or Ain’t Time Yet

Ready or Ain’t Time Yet

There are two statements that God might say to you: ‘you are not ready’ or ‘it ain’t time yet’. And there are two questions you might want to ask: ‘What should I work on?’ or ‘How should I wait?’ respectively. And there are two reasons why God would make such statements: You are not ready because He needs to work on you; or it ain’t time yet because He needs to work on the environment for the ready you. You see, relational wise, you not being ready is different from time not being due for you.

Every football team in a match has two groups of players: first time players and substitutes. A substitute is someone who is ready to play but waiting to be told when he can get in the ground. Both the first time players and substitutes are the ones certified fit and ready for the game. You will never find a player who ain’t ready among the ones packaged for the game. No coach would give a game to a player who wasn’t training.

Likewise picture this as a relationship: God would not dare give you His son’s or daughter’s heart who you ain’t ready for. It’s okay to say you are not ready if God is working on you, if God is precedentedly proceeding to process you into progress. It’s okay to be honest that you are not ready, that God is still working on you. I mean, wow such honest honesty is rare.

But you gotta understand that there comes a time when it’s further about you being ready: where it now is about the time being right for you who has been made ready. Aha you can be ready but yet in the wrong time: if you function in that time, things will go wrong. You are a substitute waiting to be told that this is the time to get in the ground and function. Am ready yes but it ain’t time, so how should I wait: get warming up. See it this way: the coach is God, the first time players are the angels and the tools of God. Okay, now God is like yes you are ready, be warming up and in the meantime, let me prepare the field for you. So He sends angels to prepare the place for you, get a possible partner in that place for you. When done, He be like aha now it’s time, get in the ground, I will cross you the ball and you shoot your shot. Am saying, when God is done working on you, He works on the field before He plants you in it. So, if you are not ready, chill, allow God to prune you. When that’s done, chill again, hear Him say it’s NOW time.

But if you are literally not ready, then what are you doing? Why are you not getting ready? Why are you not asking what you need to work on? You will not be ready out of the blue, this thing ain’t automatic. God gives to he who has.

Last point: you will never be given to or receive someone who is fully packaged. You are not a product, you are human, a social being. Humans grow with learning each other. God will prepare you but will leave you a space for your partner to learn and improve you. Yes, God will not give you the right one, but the right candidate; someone teachable, someone who you can improve. What am I saying, God gives you fundamental readiness with capacity to grow and bond with someone. You are complex and a relationship involves two complex people who are continually discovering one another, continually working on one another and for one another. We ain’t finished, we are always improving.
